The first Flair Espresso Maker was born from the heart of an espresso lover and inventor bio-medical engineer Sergio Landau, who set out on a journey to brew delicious espresso, in the comfort of his own home. He asked the question, “What is the minimum needed to make a great espresso?” This meant no gadgets; just pure, delicious espresso. Thirty years of experience as an engineer in the bio-medical industry were applied to the development of the Flair. Everything was incorporated into a simple, elegant, and affordable product that had one purpose: handcrafting delicious espresso. We believe that a home-cooked meal is better than fast food. We believe that slowing down is as important as speeding up. We believe that happiness comes from savoring the best things in life, like a hug, a sunset, or a perfectly pressed cup of espresso. The Classic Flair Espresso arrived on the market in late 2016 in California. From there, the Flair Espresso became one of the best lever manual espresso machines.

The Tricolate device has a number of innovative features that separates it as the most advanced filter coffee brewer yet.
Eliminates uneven input whilst brewing
An engineered shower head has been designed to disperse water evenly across the coffee at not only a consistent height but also at a specific flow rate.
Better coverage
A more efficient saturation can be achieved for the bloom part of brewing, wetting all of the coffee grounds in seconds without needing to stir.
No more high and dry coffee grounds
The vertical walls result in all of the coffee being in all of the water all of the time.
Laboratory grade filter paper
The German manufactured paper delivers a more consistent pore structure. With a smaller filter size than other devices you get less paper taint in your coffee.
Extract more coffee.
The 80mm wide flat brew bed increases surface area and allows for more even water to coffee contact, this results in a higher extraction.
No need for an expensive goose neck kettle
Achieve much higher extraction yields than ever before. Taste coffee that has greater balance, sweetness and clarity. For the best heat stability and durability the device is made from Tritan® plastic. Tritan® doesn’t contain BPA, BPS or any other bisphenols. It is a clear plastic that retains its colour and gloss even after hundreds of dishwasher cycles. The carry case is made from polypropylene ( PP ) which is also BPA free and food safe. The device is injection moulded in Australia.

The Flair 58 Screen, beautifully branded with the Flair 58 logo, will soften and even out the delivery of water to the coffee bed. This will help to prevent channeling and ensure a more even and balanced extraction from your Flair 58.
In addition, the Puck Screen will reduce the need for cleaning of the brew head, as it will minimize the amount of coffee material that is pulled into the brew head when lifting the lever after a shot is completed. The Puck Screen will prevent the need to remove the brew head, perhaps to once a month or less, as it will trap the material within the mesh which can be easily flushed out under the tap.
Given the thermal mass of the screen, it is recommended that it is placed in the portafilter and locked in just before turning on the preheat controller.
