So what you touch is not paint but metal with a hardened surface to make it more resistant to dents.

• Warm and natural to the touch
• Clean with care
• Custom engraves with lower contrast than aluminium
The hardwood handles are very popular and provide a great contrast with stainless steel machines and work surfaces.

BIGSTEP MK II 440C Mark II is a fancy way of saying “version 2” and we like to be different… Also, the boss man kind of liked it. 440C however, is more deliberate. This is a 440 grade stainless steel, and has the highest carbon content for a 400 stainless steel series. It is then heat-treated to reach 43-45 HRC. (let’s just say it’s freaking hard!)
THE BIGSTEP REFERS TO THE DESIGN OF THE LARGER DIAMETER ‘STEPPED EDGE’ MEASURING IN AT 58.55MM (+/-0.02MM).
This increases the surface area of extractable coffee to be covered, including the prevention of a pinched edge of coffee grind that can occur when using such a large (or incorrectly) sized base. Mainly designed for ridgeless precision baskets (Example, Pullman Filtration, VST, IMS and Strada, Synesso and some LM baskets). If unsure please send us your basket and we can measure and custom fit.
This base is made from an extremely high strength (min 43 Rockwell) 440C Grade Stainless steel in Australia from premium grade materials. This design produces incredible results for extraction in all applications.
As Pullman cannot control the large spectrum of different internal diameters across many brands and weight ratings of precision filter baskets, please note that the BigStep base may not fit in some production batches.
We strongly suggest purchasing Pullman Filtration Baskets, which are fitted to the BigStep Base, and are each manually checked for consistency.

This tiny contactless digital thermometer is the perfect companion to the Flow Tip Jug. Quickly monitor the temperature of your milk without having to place a probe in the milk means one less thing to clean.
SURFACE TEMPERATURE ONLY
Ensures IR thermometers measures the surface temperatures only, not the internal temperature of food or liquids or materials. Make sure you swirl or stir your milk before measuring for the most accurate reading.
BEWARE OF INVISIBLE STEAM
IR thermometers can be temporarily affected by frost, moisture, dust, fog, smoke or other particles in the air. Be aware that steam, even when a liquid is not boiling, can condense on the thermometer and affect the accuracy of the measurements.
NO SEE THROUGH
IR thermometers do not see through glass, liquids or other transparent surfaces, they measure the temperature of the first point of contact.
SPOT READING
IR thermometers have a beam and measure on a spot, make sure this is properly aimed at the surface to measure and not reflecting off other materials like the sides of jug or pot.
WATCH THOSE REFLECTIONS
Highly reflective surfaces like stainless steel tend to reflect ambient infrared energy rather than emit their own. So measuring boiling water in a highly polished stainless pot may give an incorrect reading.
NOT FOR BODY TEMPERATURE
This thermometer cannot and should not be used for measuring body temperatures. Only a medical thermometer should be used for such purposes.
