Roasters in Residence brings the coffee community closer to the roasters, origins and ideas behind specialty coffee. Each edition invites a featured roastery to take over the Brewing Gadgets brew bar and share its story through a curated tasting experience.
Explore distinctive coffees, experience different brewing approaches, speak directly with the roaster and discover how origin, variety, processing and roasting influence the final cup.
Our First Edition: Subko
For the first edition, we welcome Subko, the Mumbai-born specialty coffee roastery now based at Alserkal Avenue, Dubai.
Founded in 2020, Subko was created to bring greater attention to the coffees, producers and creative identity of the Indian Subcontinent. Guided by its philosophy, “From the Subcontinent, For All,” the roastery works to present coffees from the region through transparent sourcing, thoughtful processing and distinctive roasting.
During the session, Subko will guide guests through four coffees from India and Asia, sharing the producers, processing methods and flavour profiles behind each one.
